Those of you who have enjoyed Yellow Point Lodge
may be interested in becoming members of the Friends of Yellow Point
Society (F.O.Y.P.S.), a registered, non-profit group formed nearly
20 years ago to assist in the preservation of the lodge.
Members are eligible to participate on work parties held five times
a year. A variety of very 'hands on' tasks are performed by the
members, who stay at the lodge, no charge, on that particular
weekend. The society publishes a newsletter, roughly quarterly, that
keeps members posted on the details of the various work parties, up
coming events and provides a forum for members to express themselves
regarding their experiences at the lodge.
They are a separate entity from the ownership and management of the
lodge and very much loved and appreciated. Their most recent
contribution is the publication of a small booklet entitled "What to
See at Yellow Point". This is an exhaustive listing of every single
plant and animal species one may encounter while on a visit. It
really enhances an afternoon stroll and is available at the office
for the incredibly low price of two dollars, Canadian.
